Oh, What They’ve Heard

Artist Statement

As I try to piece together my childhood experiences, I am interested in the illusion and fragmented nature of memory. I view my parents’ divorce as the beginning of tumultuous life experiences that continue to shape my mental and emotional well-being. Through sculpting furniture, I am creating an archive of these intangible memories, exploring how difficult and bittersweet moments manifest in physical form. This process allows me to reconnect with my past and the emotions tied to it. I am fascinated by the idea that if everyday objects could talk, they would tell my story more accurately than I could.
